Getting started…
Before we get started on your new website we will need to get to know a little bit about you and your business. It would be nice to be able to meet and discuss your requirements but with the wonders of the internet this isn’t a necessity.

Getting started…
Before we get started on your new website we will need to get to know a little bit about you and your business. It would be nice to be able to meet and discuss your requirements but with the wonders of the internet this isn’t a necessity.
We have made a ‘new website questionnaire‘ which will help us to begin to understand what you would like from your new website. If you would like to take some time to complete it then we will be able to provide you with an accurate quotation, you can find it here.
The questionnaire is aimed at working out what, if anything, you already have in place. You may already have a domain name, hosting, or even a website, or you may want us to do everything from scratch. It might be that you are going to supply the content and images or you might want us to do that too. You might already have a layout, structure and colour theme in mind, or again, you may want us to come up with this for you. Either way, we can be very flexible and work with you to achieve your goals for your new website.
Once we have assessed your needs, gone through your requirements and provided you with a quotation that you are happy with we will be able to start designing the template for your website. We discuss this more in the next section ‘Designing your new website’.
Designing your new website…
This is where the real fun begins. At this point we will have worked out an initial spec for your new website and will start to build a framework that fits that spec. We can start to pull together a layout, navigation & page structure, colour schemes and make something that you can actually see. We will work closely with you throughout this phase as we want to make sure you are entirely happy with the ‘look and feel’ of your new website. We will welcome feedback from you and implement your suggestions so that your website represents you in the best way.
At this point, if you have asked us to, we will also be designing your logo and any graphics that you would like used on the site. Again, we will work closely with you to make sure that you are happy with the work and if any changes are needed we can make them at this fairly early stage.
If you are going to be providing us with logo’s, images and content then now is the time to start gathering this information and sending it over to us so that we can make allowances in our template for your work. If we are providing these things for you then we will be working on them alongside the design so that we can get to the next phase ‘Building your new website’ as soon as possible.
Building your new website…
By this point we will have gone through your requirements and created a spec which you have agreed. We will also have worked closely with you throughout the design process to produce a template and layout that you are happy with. We will have started to pull together imagery, logos and content and agreed on a page structure.
Now it’s time to start putting all these things in place, this is the most exciting part of the process as you start to see your new website come to life. All of your hard work is now physically available on the web (don’t worry, it only has to be hard work if you want it to …we can manage all of the content images and design for you along with the build, allowing you to concentrate on your normal day-to-day tasks if you so wish).
We will start building any functionality that you might require such as image sliders, contact forms and anything else you have outlined in your requirements. We will keep you updated throughout the build process and of course you are able to make any tweaks if you like. You can check the progress of the build at any time via a link that we will supply you with (whilst being developed it will remain on our server).
Finally, when everything is completed we will have a period of testing. We will test your website on various different browsers such as Internet Explorer, Chrome and Firefox. We will also test it on popular mobile phones and tablets. We will test any contact forms and other functionality too, making sure you are able to receive communications from your new website.
When you are happy and we are ready we will move the site over to your domain and do the final ‘go-live’ tasks such as: Setting up Google Analytics (if required), setting up Google Webmaster Tools and submitting your sitemap.xml file to Google so it can be indexed. We will also generate a robots.txt file which tell the search engines that it is now ok to crawl and index your website.
If you have asked us to setup any advertising campaigns for you we will now put these in place to start driving traffic to your website.
Your website will now be live! All that you need to do now is ‘Maintain your website’.
Maintaining your website…
We believe that a website is never truly finished, there are always improvements to be made. Once your website has been launched, whether we built it or not, we would be more than happy to assist you in making changes and improvements.
The kind of tasks we might assist with might include:
- SEO (Search Engine Optimisation)
- Content writing
- Adding products
- Adding new pages
- Adding new functionality
- Fixing bugs
- Hosting and domain renewals
- Creating and managing email accounts
- Creating and managing advertising campaigns
We would normally agree an hourly price with you for ongoing site maintenance. We only charge for the work we do and there is no minimum spend (although we charge for a minimum of 30 minutes). You will then be invoiced on a monthly or quarterly basis depending on the number of hours to be invoiced. For example if you have less than two hours work in a month we will roll it over to the next month, if the next month you don’t require any work then we will roll it over for a third month. The invoice will then be sent out on month 3 (at the end of the quarter).
If you require website maintenance on a more permanent basis we can agree a retainer amount where we will offer you a discount for a set number of hours per month, for a set number of months. If a retainer is required then we ask that you set up a standing order for the agreed amount to be paid on the last day of the month.
In all cases where we provide maintenance we will keep a work log which will be sent with your invoice, this log will outline exactly what tasks were completed for that period.
Whatever your next project, big or small, we’d love to be a part of it!
